We are aspirational

We want to be the best we can be and we cannot hide from this. Offploy was formed in a prison cell, and has been able to grow to a point where we now support hundreds of people per year. However, we are not finished yet.

We believe Offploy is an ideal and that anyone can adopt our methodology to support people with criminal convictions into meaningful, mentored and sustainable employment. We are here to not only see Offploy’s methodology used on a national level but also a global level. After all, if we can do this in multiple cities, how hard can multiple countries be?

Our overall ambitions are as follows:

  1. To see businesses recruit people with criminal convictions as ‘business-as-usual’

  2. To see our methodology adopted on a global level

  3. To fund and support other organisations in our sector to deliver their service. After all, there is no point in competing until we run out of people to help.

In the famous words of Paul Brandt, the Canadian musician:

Don't tell me the sky's the limit. There's footprints on the moon.”

Commissioners

Working with Offploy, you will find that we will look to not only deliver, but also exceed our contracted outcomes. We will always be asking about the future whilst ensuring we're keeping our feet, service and quality management planted firmly in the present. We will suggest new ways of working and will keep you involved in the overall progress of our social mission beyond the contract.

We ask that our commissioners are as open and excited as we are about the future beyond the contract. Offploy is more than any one period of delivery and one set of outcomes. We would love to involve you in our other areas of development and will always look for ways to increase collaboration and improve our service.

Colleagues

Working in such an aspirational, high-paced environment can be challenging for some. This is why we let colleagues know what we are working towards and how their day-to-day is having a huge impact, not only on our organisation’s future, but also on building a safer society.

We are looking for individuals who share the same passion and aspirations. We are looking for people who want to reduce reoffending, make society safer and impact as many people as possible.

We are completely open and understand that a role with Offploy might be a stepping stone into that perfect job. We are big fans of this and will do all we can to support you in achieving that dream role. We recognise these aspirational traits and will put them to good use whilst you’re with Offploy to deliver the best service possible to our candidates.

Candidates

When you join our service, some of you might feel a little bit out of luck and hopeless about securing employment. Others will be ‘chomping at the bit’ and want to apply for as many jobs as possible. Either way, with the right tools and with stories of many who have walked before you, we will support you in becoming aspirational about securing sustainable employment.

All we ask of our candidates is to trust in the Offploy service, participate in what we do, enjoy yourself on the way, and employment will happen.

Together, we will see a day where employing people with criminal convictions is ‘business-as-usual’ for employers. This will reduce reoffending and make society safer.

Overall

We are proud of what we have learnt and achieved in our four years of service, but we recognise we still have a long way to go until we’re a sector leader in being aspirational. If you have any thoughts on how we could improve our aspirations, please email us on website@offploy.org. You can read about our other values here.
