Offploy can today announce that it has teamed up with PeoplePlus to support people with criminal convictions into meaningful employment in order to reduce reoffending. Together they are already looking to support a number of candidates into employment in the Norfolk and Suffolk areas.

PeoplePlus is a leading employment support and training services company helping people to transform their lives and businesses through work, training, education and financial advice. They have more than 320 people working across 10 prisons in the East of England to help people with a criminal record develop skills and qualifications both in prison and after release.

Offploy is a social enterprise set up in 2016 which recruits staff, typically without convictions, for the criminal justice sector then reinvests 100% of the profits into helping those with criminal convictions find meaningful, mentored and sustainable employment. The new initiative received over 10m views across the world on LinkedIn after addressing such a difficult issue felt globally.

“Their service has been professional, prompt and friendly. We have been impressed by their knowledge and understanding of Justice Sector requirements. Moving forward we will be working with Offploy to identify employment opportunities for ex-offenders released in our local area and Offploy will be supporting their resettlement through mentoring.”

PeoplePlus are now Offploy’s second Offenders’ Learning and Skills Service (OLASS) client after Milton Keynes College. Discussions are now in place with Novus, the largest OLASS provider. Working with prison education providers enables Offploy to fully support those with convictions to ensure that they get the right job and have continued success before release.

Irina Hodkinson, PeoplePlus Cluster Manager, explained how the new partnership would be of benefit: “We are delighted to be working with Offploy who have provided some excellent candidates for key vacancies within our prison education provision.
